Nervous and muscular tension, aggravated by the accumulation of pain, can become chronic over time. Manual well-being therapies aim to release nervous tension and restore internal harmony. The solutions and relaxation they induce lie on the borderline between the worlds of psychology and rehabilitation. In this course, we’ll look at how to relieve accumulated tension in the back, shoulders and neck. The massage techniques you will learn can help break the vicious circle of unbalanced health. The engineering of this training sequence is based on an understanding of the science of touch, in order to personalise your treatment and respond as effectively as possible to your needs and expectations. We will focus on developing the sense of touch rather than systematically reproducing protocols. We will base our work on the recognised techniques of shiatsu, myo-fascia therapy and triggers, as well as work on releasing the breath and the solar plexus. An approach to the fundamental principles of Chinese and Japanese energetics will be included in order to address the notion of emotional release. In particular, we will look at the bladder meridian and the theory of Yin and Yang. To reinforce what you’ve learnt, the examples given in our classes are based on our summary of situations encountered in consultations.
